I love the detail in this!

I was disappointed when the movie made Smaug a wyvern. Dragons ought to have four legs and two wings.

He had hands on the tip of his wings

Yes, but but he didn't have forelegs. A Western dragon is a six-appendaged creature: four legs and two wings. A wyvern has two legs and two wings, which is how they made Smaug in the movie. I still think he was really cool, but Tolkien was very specific to call Smaug a dragon or a worm.

I don't understand why he kept calling smaug a worm. He could of called him an "over grown bat" or an "useless reptile". He doesn't look like a worm.

I'm pretty sure "worm" used to be another word for "dragon," but I could be wrong.

Smaug is a dragon, he has 4 legs and 2 wings. This has only 2 legs making it a wyverm.

you're right that he has 4 legs, but a wyvern is a dragon, just a specific type.

One of the best dragon's portrayals I've ever seen.
I just fell in love with that one, great, great work.

You're style of light manipulation reminds me of Tintoretto's works :) Though I like yours better ^^

Your work is truly inspiring, I can't stop staring at this beautiful piece of art.
